Wraxhill Road – Case Study

Design Brief:
Our aim was to design a striking, modern family home in Yeovil. The clients wanted to maximise the potential of the corner plot and enjoy the uninterrupted southern views. The home takes advantage of the site’s topography, featuring open-plan spaces zoned through internal stepped levels. These levels ensure all spaces face south, seamlessly transitioning to the outdoor patio spaces.

Design Concept:

The design concept for this modern property in Yeovil focuses on creating a visually striking and functional family home. By maximising the potential of the corner plot, the design ensures that the uninterrupted southern views are a central feature. The home is thoughtfully integrated with the site’s natural topography, incorporating open-plan spaces that are cleverly zoned through internal stepped levels. The first floor master takes advantage of the elevated views by incorporating a recessed balcony, creating a sense of luxury.

This new home leverages modern building methods, utilising an ICF blockwork system for construction. The exterior features a blend of vertical composite cladding and black brick, honouring the site’s history, as the previous home also incorporated areas of black brickwork.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, this modern family home combines striking design with functionality, maximising the corner plot’s potential and uninterrupted southern views. Thoughtfully integrated with the site’s topography, the home features open-plan spaces, with a luxurious first-floor master suite and recessed balcony. Utilising an ICF building method and modern materials, the exterior blends vertical composite cladding with black brick, paying homage to the site’s historical elements. This design ensures a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living, creating a truly exceptional family home.
